Garden Coach House Details
Old roses and honeysuckle ramble the thick stone walls of the beautifully refurnished Garden Coach-House which nestles in lovely countryside, in the Welsh/English borderlands. It lies on the edge of Maesbury village just 1 mile from the market town of Oswestry and about 15/20 minutes from Shrewsbury, Llangollen & Welshpool and just 30 mins south of Chester. The Garden Coach-House first saw the light of day way back in the 1500s and was the original dwelling place and right up to until 1955 an old gent actually lived in the grooms room above the stabling. The main house, Ashfield Farmhouse was build a little later and now hosts a bed and breakfast. A wooden doorway in the walled garden leads into the pretty courtyard with garden furniture and plants. A heavy door bids you welcome into the cosy lounge with part exposed stonewalling with a wealth of oak beams. The heating is electric radiators with electric stove/fire for extra warmth on colder days. A really comfortable deluxe sofa (which also makes an excellent extra bed) is an ideal spot to relax in. There are plenty of information brochures, maps, books, games etc to help you enjoy your stay with TV, DVD and radio too. The fitted kitchen has a large arched window and is light and airy. It is fully equipped with electric 4 ring cooker, fridge with large icebox, microwave, toaster, washing machine etc and has plenty of cookery/glassware and utensils plus iron & ironing board if needed. The charming winding staircase leads to one large airy bedroom with lots of light & excellent views. It has a very comfy double bed & single bed as well. It is traditionally furnished and very cosy and you get that olde worlde feeling straight away. The bathroom is light and fully equipped with sit-in bath plus electric shower. There is a very unusual corner here which has a winding slate and stone staircase that used to come in from the outside! The entrance door is halfway up the wall on the outside and you would step inside from this doorway. Don't worry, this is only a feature and you don't have to climb in from the outside anymore!!!. The bathroom has all mod cons. All the bed linen and economy 7 radiator heating is included in the costing. A £1 coin meter is for domestic electricity only. A perfect
haven to relax, whether colourful days of Spring and Autumn, balmy summer
days or just cosy comfort in Winter. Welcoming all year around.
Personally managed by Margaret and David to ensure your comfort.
